Jan Paweł Trzaska is a cinematographer and photographer, a graduate of the  Cinematography Department at the Polish National Film School in Łódź, the Academy of Photography in Warsaw, and the Academy of Film and Television.

He is a member of the Polish Society of Cinematographers (PSC). He is currently working as Director of Photography on the full-length stop-motion animated feature film Ro, produced by Animoon and co-produced by Les Films du Cygne (France), Filmkompaniet (Finland), Haus Boot (Czech Republic), and WFF (Poland). The film is directed by Magdalena Osińska, an Aardman director.

Jan’s latest work as a Director of Photography includes the advertising campaign “Better on a Better Mobile Network” for the Telstra telecommunications network. Created by the agency Bear Meets Eagle On Fire, produced by Revolver, and directed by Jeff Low, the campaign received the Grand Prix in Film Craft at the 2025 Cannes Lions and went on to win multiple prestigious international awards for cinematography and craft, earning broad recognition across the global advertising industry.

His film work includes the short film The Bridge, directed by Izumi Yoshida. The film won the Grand Prix – George Lucas Award at the Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia in Tokyo (2023), as well as the Award for Best Short Film at the same festival. These accolades placed The Bridge on the longlist of films eligible for the 2023 Academy Awards.
